Rick, most windows permit going to settings/control panel and using the add/remove of IE to get to the repair IE. The option should come up as soon as you click on add/remove. I think in most cases it does work, if you are connected to the internet when doing the repair, I believe it will seek necessary files from Microsoft to repair what is on the computer. Good luck!
