On the Immunize feature in SpyBot, you have to click "immunize" in that first area, and "install" in the second area to activate its options. That's normal for it to say your protected against X number even if it's not activated. When I first went there, it told me over 400, then I updated it and clicked the buttons, and it doesn't say that anymore.
Could you or someone please tell me what the buttons are to the RIGHT of "immunize" and to the RIGHT of "install" in that area? I can't get to them to read them, and the program won't scroll left and right. People that make these program just automatically assume that everyone runs their PC's at the tiny default font size and scroll bar size and they refuse to allow for any changes in Windows for those properties. Therefore, you can't see much of a program's interface! I don't know how I missed it before, it could have been added there during an update. I activated it, and it DOES indeed work (yet missed MSupdater.exe) but it WILL stop you from getting things. Since activating it, it has stopped 3 "infections". A warning window popped up at these times asking if I "wanted to download [whatever], a known spyware threat". I of course said "no" and it prevented the download of what was probably a control that would have gone into the "Downloaded program files" folder. I may guess that in the upcoming days or weeks, ALL of these programs will have definition updates that will (in the case of SpyBot's "immunize" feature, Spyware Guard and Spyware Blaster) will PREVENT you from getting this, and it the case of Spy Sweeper will correctly identify this specific threat. ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
