Marlene (answering your offline email saying that some of my email is coming
directly to you)...
Once upon a time I was a happy guy using Netscape and thinking that my website
looked the same on all browsers. So one day, I opened IE and didn't recognize
my site. I got to talking with Hugh Vandervoort asking him some html question
and he told me to get rid of Netscape (only one percent of the population use
it), that Netscape has to upgrade their act a little bit, and to do my work on
Explorer. Everything he said was right and I learned how to use tables to set
margins (stopped using "marginwidth" and "blockquote" tags for that purpose),
and even use some css tag to neaten up the pages. I haven't done them all yet
but someday I'll get around to it.
I mentioned that among other features I like about Netscape is the convenience
of the email icon and the availability of the Netscape email address book. He
convinced me to use Outlook Express, and again, he was right; I notice a lot
of good features about it. Nevertheless, that was the end of my happiness, and
my problems haven't stopped since.
I'll never know what he knows and again he's right, Explorer puts out a more
reliable webpage. Problem is that I'm still learning how to use both Explorer
and Outlook Express. Keep in mind that before this, I would delete OE (not
using it) and just used their address book (which I had put into its own
folder in Program Files), where I then entered all my personal addresses,
phone numbers ... everything. Life was sweet.
Then when starting with OE, I copied all the Netscape email list which I had
already backed up, into OE ... and now, in OE, when I want to access my email
address book, I click the "To" button in OE and up pops all the names that
were in both the Netscape address book and the OE address book (which I was
using for regular phone numbers). Now it's the address book where I have all
my personal addresses (not just email but all addresses and phone numbers),
that pops up. It's my entire address book making it a little cumbersome
selecting the exact addy (so happens I have both you and the group listed
there along with uncle Abe and aunt Tillie).
Much of the guilt is mine as I have an aversion to reading those long
instructions that come with programs; a bad habit I'll have to change. Current
problem: Clint says I don't have to have the AVG footer in this mail but he
forgot to tell me how to stop it (thank you, Clint) ... Harold
Hello Harold,
Somehow you have gotten your email addresses crossed. To send to the list,
use [EMAIL PROTECTED] ... to send only to me, use
[EMAIL PROTECTED] :-)
Best Regards,
Marlene
There it is again...
Someone tell me; I'm using Outlook Express. How do I configure this to
remove that footer? ... Harold
