Thanks, Vern (and Clint) ... I'm using the free edition. I opened the Avg
Control Center, clicked the Email Scanner tab, and unchecked "Certify
Outgoing Messages" ... Let's see if that works.

If it doesn't, then maybe I should have closed OE and reopened it OR, it was
necessary to reboot the computer. Let's see now (using 'minimum invasion
steps' as the dentist says) ... Harold

Btw, this AVG scanner is great, and I have to thank Hugh for that idea too.
Everything he's suggested is causing me grief no end. Just kidding Hugh
(truth is all your ideas are terrific; just that I have to read directions).
