Hi,
I didn't get the chance to read ALL of your recent e-mail about
spyware (I don't have enough time right now, but I'll finish it later tomorrow) ,
but what I meant about someone creating an ultimate anti-spyware program is
that, for instance, everyone in this forum of yours that knows about such things
and how to combat them should put their collective heads together to create
this program, not just one person. The more the merrier, safety in numbers, and
all that rot. If I knew how to do any of that I'd certainly at least TRY to
and put out the cry on my service (if I had one, like this one here) to ask all
who CAN help to do so and contribute their knowledge.
Back in the late `70's, Terry Hounsome started to put together a
massive work in his "Rock Record" book series. Since then he's had many, many
record collectors add as much info to his books as possible. It's now such a huge
book he only publishes it on cd-rom. I think his first edition had about
10,000 or so entries, the most recent edition was (I think) up to about
7,000,000!! So, you see, if he didn't take the record collectors' collective
knowledge
into account for his book it'd still be printed on paper and wouldn't be
anywhere near as big as it is now. Word of mouth DOES help. I'm sure word of
internet would be a much bigger help.
