I've been having similar problems with this Explorer thingie. I have
a Gateway AMD Athlon with Win ME. Every once in a while I'll suddenly get a
little box pop up on the screen that says something about Explorer causing an
error in some file or program or another. It only gives me the option to click
the button "Close", but if I move the box and work around it for a little
while, I can close it later and nothing bad will happen, if I click the Close
button without moving it, I lose all but one or two tray icons and whatever file
and program I was working on at the time. Yesterday, I JUST finished booting
up for the first time that day when I got this error message, so I had to
restart and go through all of that all over again. I was going to burn a few cd's
for one of my customers and didn't want this problem to screw up the cd's for
me, or her.
I have NEVER used Internet Explorer on this computer (if that's what
it is that's giving me the problems). I can't find anything that just says
Explorer, so I don't want to delete Internet Explorer if that's not what's
causing this. Whatever this is, I want to get rid of it as SOON as possible!!! I'm
sick and tired of getting these messages and losing my work!! Any ideas what
this could be? Is it actually IE? If so, I'm deleteing it. I never use it.
