There are, indeed, many types of firewalls. If you're using the XP firewall,
open Network Connections, Right-Click the Icon and click
"Propewrties/Advanced". You can disable the firewall here, or make
adjustments if you have installed SP2. Be sure to re-enable it when you're
done.
If you're behind a router, or using a program Lke Zone Alarm, the procedure
is different, so you'll have to tell us your situation.

I am unable to download songs from music net @ aol because I am behind a
firewall.My broadband connection is verizon dsl.I asked aol how to
temporarily
disable the firewall so I could download some songs,they stated there are
many
types of firewalls and they don't deal with them.Does anyone know how to do
this
with verizon dsl?
