>From: "Ann Parker" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Clint, during the past nine years, I have had three computers, a Mac and two PC's, one with 98 OS and the present one with XP. I have never backed up my Registry, for the simple reason that I just didn't know how to. Is there a simple way that you could tell me how to do it. Do I back it up on a cd or on my hard drive. I have 80gigabytes on my harddrive and haven't used half of it yet. . Thanks. Ann Parker.
Ann raises in interesting point. How to back up the Registry has already been answered. "Where" is a different question. I back it up in a folder called "Registry" which I keep in the corner of the desktop (along with Cinderella) for the very simple reason that this backup is only a temporary file; meaning I'm not going to keep it long. As long as maybe the next bootup and I see that all appears to be working well. The reason I see it as temporary is that I compare it to a bank balance in your bank statement or bank book. After any new deposit or withdrawal, that old balance is meaningless (same with your old Registry backup). If any of my ideas are insane, please correct me :) ...
