The last time I checked, Winamp's MP3 capability was crippled unless you
bought the Pro version. Medial Player was very fast, but you've got to do a
bit of tweaking to get the settings to your liking.
My personal favorite is Exact Audio Copy, which is free and requires a bit
of study, but produces excellent, fast results.

I was checking ratings on some of this software and it seems
Winamp rates better than Windows Media..
Thoughts?
My main objective is so my daughter can download songs and
transfer Cd's to MP3 for her player.
