I have it on my machine in the Windows\System32 folder and it carries a company name of Microsoft. It also shows in several of the service pack files. If you have the sp1 or sp2 update, it should be in those. The last version that I have is 5.1.2600.1134. (Windows XP pro SP1). I don't think that it would be the full name on the cd but as user32.dl_ if it follows MS usual format.

Can anyone tell me please where the heck user32.dll comes from? How did it get on my HD? I can't find it on the XP CD with SP2, so it's not part of them (yes, I searched for the name WITHIN the files on the CD). I also searched the updates I installed on SP2 and it's not in them either. I can't even find it to download, only a really old version. I need the 5.1.2600.2180 version of the file.
