Easy cleaner is way cool as a registry cleaner, but stay away from the other
features, except the "Unnecessary files" program.
You can actually delete many of the duplicate files, but it's not always
easy to tell which ones (Some bitter experience is involved here).
The 14 hour figure for listing is misleading. I believe you'll find this
fixed in the latest version.
On the other hand, Harold, this is the way a geek is born. This kind of
investigation and experimentation is the absolute best way for guys like you
and me to get under the hood and see what makes these babys tick.
One of these days I expect you to be writing about the new PC you're
building, and then you will have arrived.

I have a program called "EasyCleaner" (there are many others online and free
to find duplicate files). This program also cleans out unnecessary entries
in the Registry, it does a good job, and the system is working fine. I tried
a section in that program to find "duplicate files" and looks like my OS is
loaded with them; enough to take 14 hours to list them (so it says, and I'm
not waiting around).

For example, I have two .sys files (and this is only one example of maybe
many, if it's going to take 14 hours to list):

C:\dblspace.bin
C:\drvspace.bin

And when opening these two particular .sys files, I find the following in
it:
ft Corporation.4=_o~

I'm sure all that is coding which I'll never understand; the great mystery
behind the workings of a computer. Questions:

1. Why are there duplicates?
2. Should I be concerned with them?
3. Why are they considered duplicates when they have different names? ---
