Harold, dblspace.bin and drvspace.bin are there for compressed drives, setup in MS-DOS. Most of us do not use them anymore since you can get fairly inexpensive disk space, but back in the days when drives were much smaller, you could expand your disk space using this DOS facility. I don't even have them on my system anymore, but if you create a system disk they are usually put onto the disk by default. Unless you use compressed drives, you don't need them.
