Original problem:
> Clicking the x (upper right hand corner of title bar), my > Firefox takes
5 seconds to close. Same thing happens when double-clicking the FF logo in
upper left hand corner of title bar. When closing it by File > Exit, the
closing is immediate. Closing IE or any other window, there is no problem.
What's wrong with my FF title bar? --- Harold

have the very latest version since a security problem was just discovered

> You don't miss the Windows Taskbar in full screen mode? Not the status
bar, but the TASKbar. In FS mode in IE, you hover the Taskbar and it shows.
In FF, it's just plain GONE and the only way to see your address bar at
bottom and get to your open apps, etc., is to leave FS mode. That's the main
reason why I didn't switch to FF. Also, the highlight function is rather
ridiculous. I use this in IE all the time to mark VARIOUS MULTIPLE areas of
a webpage. In FF, you can only mark ONE SENTENCE. I love the way it will
mark all similar words, but only allowing the highlighting of one tiny area
at a time, is bad for my use. - -Clint

Response --- Clint (and Peter who is trying this FF on his Windows 98), I
will install that updated Java you mentioned. I see that problem with full
screen mode but I never use it; real estate is too expensive in NYC to be
chopping off parts of windows. I did add that highlight function (it's
called Auto Copy and it copies whatever is highlighted immediately to the
clipboard) and I agree, it's cute, maybe ridiculous in that it what (saves
two clicks?). Not true what you say about "one sentence" - highlighting
multiple paragraphs, they all immediately appear on the clipboard (I'm sure
you mean multiple copying, something like Textclip, where you can then
retrieve anything you copied "when needed"). That would be a good extension;
so would a browser that takes the garbage out.

I also notice that FF does have a page for recommended extensions (and I
don't want to get hung up on extensions). However, this brings me back to my
original question where I'm not chopping off anything; just renovating
(which is what extensions really do), "Why the shut down lag when using
either side of the title bar?" --- Harold
