Hi, I just finished defragging my computer and when it was finished, I found that I have 140,550 total files and 10,769 total folders on my hard drive. Do others have that many? Did I put them all on there? I have had my computer (HP Pavilian 7975) for three years and use Windows XP. I have about 80 gigabytes of memory on my hard drive and 55% of it free. I also have 512 MB of RAM. I do not have a business. I just use my computer for fun and information....just an old 79 year old senior citizen who would be lost without her computer!!!! Recently it seems to be slowing down. I am on cable.
I feel that I should begin to eliminate some of my "stuff" as I am getting quite "bogged down" with so many folders and files. Where would be the best place to begin deleting some of these files and folders? I just deleted 2000 emails that I had saved. You all have been a great help to me for several years. Many thanks.
