It should work. Try copying a copy into the DB power amp folder and see
if it will work. There are a good number of free codex files now
available so that if Lame doesn't work there may be others that will.

Keith,
I used DB power amp for a long time and then it quit working because
the codex or encoder people wanted money. I have Audacity working but
would like to use the DB power amp. Won't the Lame encoder work with
DB power amp? Is there a difference between a codex and an encoder?
Thanks

Thanks for the input Keith and I did finally find the file I needed
from lame. Now the problem is when I opened Audacity the open my one
song music file which streamed across the screen then I tried to
convert to mp3 which it did but the sound was really strange. I
guess I do not understand audacity at all.
Thanks

For the conversions, you need a codec (format conversion file).
The new
Lame mp3 converter is probably among the best. there was an older
version that was described as poor and this may be your problem. You
can read more about them at
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Lame_Encoder.htm
and download from there as well. I use Audacity all the time to
convert
and edit to length MP3 files as well as WMA and a WAV formats. All
have
good fideltity with the Lame that I am useing.
