I had forgotten about the info tool that Keith mentioned. Run that for
sure.

There is software out there that lets you use a cd drive like a floppy where
you can just drag files to it. I know that kind of software used to stop
Nero from working. You might look to see if there is other cd software
starting automatically at boot. You could always disable it in msconifg and
see.

product

Thanks for reply Ben and I can attached a screen shot of the programs on
this machine if you would like. I know it has realPlayer, windows media,
Sonic recordnow, InterVideo WinDVD. I have not tried all the functions
in the suite but I was just trying to get it to play a DVD. That is real
basic I think. My friend wants to be able to play and made DVD's in +
and - formats.
I have Nero on three computers of my own with no problems.
I think these programs he has was his effort to copy a DVD with no
success. His solution was to add more programs. His latest was to add
Lite-on SOHW-1673su which is a DVD+-R/RW DL Recorder.
The other play is a Toshiba ODD-DVD SD-R6252 DVD+R/RW recorder.
I suppose it might best to delete these other programs and then see if
Nero works.
