I say (I said it already) that the "Highlight active cord while connecting"
feature is simply broken and can't be used with custom colors (see
https://github.com/pure-data/pure-data/issues/2686 ). It's not crucial, as
patches can run, and people can still use this feature if they don't mess
with colors, but (since adding colors is a new feature from 0.56-0) this is
a bug that should be fixed and the fix is there and has been
tested/approved, so I don't see why not take it. The other issues on
message signature changes, of course, require consideration, as you said.
