Hi Clifford, I've seen this problem on OS X a lot in my workshops. [hid] works fine, but something in the help file crashes it. Has to do with one of the messages in the help patch causing [hid] to try to open one of the built-in Mac HID devices (trackpad, keyboard, etc), which it doesn't like.
Here's a quick fix: open the [hid] help patch in TextEdit or some other text editor, and change the creation argument to something above the number of built in Mac HID devices. [hid 5] should work, for example. Remember to save as extension .pd! Then you should be able to open the help patch and get more information. best, d. Clifford Dunn wrote: > Hello list.
