I had the same problem on OSX 10.9.5 nut just with 47-1 also with the prior version of PD. I actually could not quit the application other than by force.
If you go to your audio preferences and switch off/untick “Use callbacks” the problem might disappear, it did so here, although i don’t know exactly why. Besides that, are your Input Devices never storing their state, when you Save All Settings in audio prefs?
