I hope I’m not butting in where I have no business, but I’d like to mention that Ross Bencina’s ‘OSCGroups’ (http://www.rossbencina.com/code/oscgroups) does an excellent job of handling group formation, broadcast and NAT tunneling. Our group has been using it for over fifteen years, and it’s as solid as a rock. It may not be Pd-native, but it does the job extremely well.

However, if you need to send packets to several/all registered clients, e.g. like a game server, this doesn't work (yet).
