You may need to OCR the page or entire  file to gain access to the text you can see visually on screen.  The new Acrobat 6.0 (Standard) will do that using the Paper Capture feature. You could also do that with Acrobat 5.0 (full licensed version)  - but you will also need the paper capture plug-in (free download from www.adobe.com)

I tried searching the archives and didn't find anything.  I'm new to this group and probably just didn't know the right question to ask.
 
I received an emailed pdf file that I am trying to convert to an Excel file.  When I attempted to highlight the area with the table tool, none of the numbers highlighted.  I tried the same procedure on other pdf files and it worked fine.  Does anyone know what the cause of this could be and is there a way to correct the problem?
