My suggestion would be to rasterize the illustrator artwork(Found under the Object menu). In other words, convert the vector artwork to a bitmap image. This will display just fine online, just play with the resolution to what best meets your needs.

I am trying to distill a file from Illustrator 10 to Acrobat 5.0. Th problem that I am having is that the illustrator images are distilling bitmapped but the fonts are displaying perfect. If I print the document it looks ok. It is only on line that my pdf's look horrible. By the way, any images from photoshop are displaying great as well. It is only the vector are in illustrator. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
