First of all, PDF files are NOT postscript graphics. PDF is NOT Postscript! It shares the same graphics model, but NOT the same language!
can be editied down to the most minute detail with Adobe Illustrator.
Illustrator is NOT a PDF Editor!!!
It does not support many of the features that can be represented in PDF, including (but not limited to) embedded fonts. (except where the PDF was originally created in Illustrator and maintains it's "private data").
