This is just a comment on part of the question-- I put a lot of pdf's on a
site for a client, but the client was unable to download any until they were
below 200K  (Even with DSL.) And I wonder if they should be smaller. I would
like to know a target size for pdf's for the web as well.  I do know many
webmasters recommend 64 K for a max web page size including graphics,
because so much of the country still relies on slow connections.  -- Julia
