PDF-Basics is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com/ __________________________________________________________________
Hi, and thank you very much again for your help. I have made the file and uploaded it, it seems to be working, is reasonablish quality, but rather slow, ofcourse, to load. A friend of mine has just said that if I can get the orginal version of the document on disc in its original dtp format, I could then open it up in the dtp software it was made in, and then convert that directly into a .pdf file, and it would probably be alot smaller in file size done this way, as well as better quality. He said that when I scanned in the pages myself, I was also scanning in all the white area around the text which when saved as a pdf document would increase the file size significantly?.... Could you let me know if he is right? Many many thanks! Much appreciated, Debbie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rich Sprague" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, January 11, 2004 6:09 PM Subject: RE: [PDF-Basics] Please help!- Compressing Acrobat Files > > PDF-Basics is a service provided by PDFzone.com | http://www.pdfzone.com/ > __________________________________________________________________ > > Debbie, > > 5MB is not a large size in today's standards "if" one has a connection > faster than 56k. > > You can use the Adobe fast web view feature as described below: > > Enabling Fast Web View in Adobe PDF files > > Fast Web View restructures an Adobe PDF document for page-at-a-time > downloading (byte-serving) from Web servers.
