        That's your problem!

        First, Photoshop is not the best tool for creating brochures or material to be distributed online - since the elements are rasterized and therefore potentially large.

        Second, if you do choose to use Photoshop - do NOT flatten before PDF generation.  When you leave vector and text layers intact, Photoshop is able to leave those as vector/text elements in the PDF thus keeping the final document smaller!


Anybody know how the professionals are able to get a full colour brouchure onto a resonable sized PDF file?

        Sure - do NOT use Photoshop.

        Use Illustrator, InDesign, or Quark...
