Most PDF creators will just take what you've already created in another application and make a PDF version of it.  If you want the appearance to be more professional, you'll have to address that in the source document.  (Create a more professional looking Word document or try using another application to create your documents.)

If your PDFs don't look like your Word files, or they have other problems that hinder you from using them as professional documents (e.g. if the file size is too large to be reasonable for distributing the document in PDF, or you need to use password protection on them) then you may want to consider a different software for creating your PDFs.  Adobe Acrobat Standard and Professional both include the "Adobe PDF" converter for Word, which should create PDFs that are exactly like your originals with a good compression rate.  You would also be able to add password protection to keep others from changing your PDF files once they've received them.  If you're looking for an inexpensive alternative, you might consider BCL easyPDF, which offers many of the same features for only $49.  A free demo is available from our website at http://www.bcltechnologies.com.

Hello,

This is my first post to the list and I would like to introduce myself and also that I have a question about PDF Documents.  I am currently living in Northern Iraq and I work for Kellogg, Brown & Root as a Security Coordinator.  I have several reports that I write and I am very interested in finding out a way to make my reports especially my Daily Iraq Security Report look a little more professional.

I am currently using Professional 6.0 PDF Creator, which I do use a lot to convert MS Word Doc to PDF files.  I am just curious is there another program that will enhance a better looking document to send out.
