Go to eHelp's (makers of RoboHelp) site and take a look at RoboPDF. It installs as a printer driver and only allows printing to PDF. You cannot view or edit PDFs with it. It does allows for modifications to the distiller settings to allow for security issues and I believe it will allow you to set job options similar to Acrobat. It was $49 for a single copy with discounts for purchasing more than one copy at a time. You can download the home version as a trial. I've recommended it to one of our sales support engineers who just wants to be able to make PDFs of PowerPoint presentations to leave with customers and prospects. One note about using RoboPDF, use it as just another printer driver. That is, have your document open in the program it was created in and then select the print function and chose the RoboPDF printer. My sales engineer was having trouble with his powerpoint coming out in b/w. When I checked his process, he was opening RoboPDF and selecting the file. When I had him open Powerpoint, select the file, select file/print and then choose the RoboPDF printer, bingo, a color PDF. BTW, I have no stake in eHelp as a user, investor or employee. It's a neat little way to make PDFs easily and it's inexpensive. Beats buying Adobe's print-only-to-PDF program that's really cheap, but only can be purchased in a minimum of 1000 seats.
