Well that's a MAJOR (insurmountable) problem. Non-roman fonts need to be embedded if you want them to work on other people's computers, and if your font can't be embedded, you need to find a new one. OR contact the font foundry for a special license - many grant them.
4. So at this point I guessed that I could cut/paste between two pdf files (the one with Russian with a proprietary font that wont be embedded and the one with my sentences in Arial Unicode) but that does'nt work .... when I do that I only get a serie of black dots or "??????????" instead of my caracters .....
Correct, due to a combination of font embedding (or lack thereof) AND font ENCODING (Unicode vs. ???) issues.
