I seem to remember that there was a font that could be used to include pdf mark commands on a page and that this font was only processed by distiller. Anyone else aware of this?
You don't need a font to do PDFMarks - BUT PDFMarks wont' help you with ID, since it doesn't use Postscript to do PDF generation. ID goes "direct to PDF".
You are going to need to do this post-authoring in Acrobat.
