Yes, Leonard, but that can be a problem sometimes, as it is for me. I have a lot of 
media to deal with (.wav and .mpg files), and Acrobat doesn't convert Word objects, so 
if you want to embed them (which is cooler), you have to re-do them all in Acrobat 
after conversion, and if you have to revise often, that's a lot to do if you have lots 
of clips in your document. 

Another option (less attractive), would be hyperlinks. Those convert okay in most 
instances, but usually (but not always - [EMAIL PROTECTED]&*!! exletive deleted) they 
do not convert properly to PDFs if there are spaces in the filenames, which are 
important in my case. Acrobat 'escapes' the spaces to %20 because it evidently thinks 
any link must be a web link, but my filenames don't have %20 in them, they have 
spaces. So if I go that route, I would need something to convert all %20 back to 
spaces...

        PDF files aren't designed for search & replace.

        You should go back to the original documents, make the 
corrections there, and then rePDF them.
