Hi

I am having trouble printing to Adobe PDF from any application in OSX

The printer shows up ok, but just endlessly stops the print jobs after
attempting to open a connection.

Anyone had a similar problem?

First of all, if you'll start a new message with "compose" instead of just hitting "reply" and changing the subject line, it'll make your post easier to track and more likely to get a reply.

Sencondly, when you reply, strip off anything that isn't really needed to follow the thread. People on slow connections will thank you.

Now, we'll need to have a little more information in order to help you. When I print to PDF from OSX, I can do it one of two ways: 1) hit the "Save as PDF" button on the print dialog (not the best option, especially not for prepress); or 2) Select "Output options" in the print dialog and choose to save as a postscript file. Then, open distiller and feed it the PS file you just generated. My default printer is a HP4550N color laser which speaks PostScript. I'm using Mac OS X 10.2.6 on a 500MHz iBook.

So, what kind of printer is your default? What version of OS X are you running? I see that you've got Acro 6 Pro, so you should have the OSX version of Distiller. Step by step, outline for us what you're doing, and tell us exactly what you want to do.
