As far as I am concerned there is a major issue to be aware of. With Version 6 Adobe has grayed out the selection box for specifying your commenting server in the Mac version! This is not the case for the PC version and it effectively kills the possibility of collaborative annotations from the Mac!
True.
It is really hard to understand why this was done!
Actually, it's very EASY to understand why it was done.
Collaborative annotations require browser integration (ie. you can't do online collab outside of the browser) and since Acrobat for Mac OS X doesn't hae browser integration - they don't have collab annots.
At such time as a browser integration solution appears for Acrobat on Mac OS X, then collab annots should hopefully work again...
With version 6 they have built a lot of new and very nice annotation tools, and on the PC they have substantially improved the ability to work in a collaborative mode - making it much easier and more reliable! Then in the Mac release they take it all away! So if you are a Mac user then really none of the new annotations tools are any good to you!
Not ALL away. The "ad-hoc", email-based, collaboration methods works just fine with Mac OS X & Acrobat 6...
Now with version 6 being Mac OSX native and with Mac OSX having native support for WebDAV you would think this would be a no brainer!
Mac OS X's support for WebDAV is NOT an system-level API, but only a feature of the Finder. It doesn't help/hurt other applications.
Plus, all Adobe applications have their own WebDAV implementation anyway in order to run cross-platform.
