Howdy,
I'm looking
for options to streamline my workflow a bit. We manufacture many products, and
so also produce a myriad library of Specification Sheets, Installation
Instructions and Product FAQs, etc. Currently, we produce the project and save a
PDF version for online viewing, then "book" the job out of the original design
software to a laser printer. By "booking" I mean changing the imposition of
pages so that when printed and folded, they come out in order in the
booklet.
I am
interested in finding an Acrobat Plug-in or stand-alone that will work off of
the PDF file and reorder the pages onto a larger document size,
etc.,
For instance,
one installation instruction has six letter sized pages. The online version of
the pdf is easy, just export the file pages one through six. The print job is a
bit trickier, It needs to be 11x17 with page six and page one together on
the same page, page two and page 5 together, and page 3 and 4 together. Plug-ins
to PageMaker did this fine, but that creates two workflows, two copies of
documents, etc. The company has obsoleted the in-house darkroom (and rightly
so!) so all files are generated direct to film. I'm looking for some way to
generate a second set of PDF's that are "booked" without also having to create
the separate original files in PageMaker.
Thank you in
advance.
