It is saving scanned docs as a jpgs I just found out. Jpgs are
not good images when doing document imaging. I hear the
lawyers use Acrobat to index the scanned docs for court. I
got alittle project I need to do & it is a legal one.

I am able to copy text from the pdf with the AcrobatReader.
When scanning, my software ask, whether I want "a editible" one.
I click on yes. Don't know what the format it would save if I chose
not to edit the file but the file sizes are all about 400k for a piece
of paper with just words on it.

I could take all the images out of pdf file with another program but
right now, I just want a smaller output files.

However, I had TextBridge software. It would save in HTM & text
format only in the old days.

I don't know of any real easy software at this time that would create
the .CHM format I am looking for unless TextBridge is doing this now.

Still why is pdf files so popular? Windows already has the reader to
view chm files. Yes it takes special software to decompose & edit
the chm files but you can do the same in Acrobat for $600, the real
thing.

>From what I have read from the web, "Paper Capture" sounds like a
htm file with image files linked to htm file just like a web page. You
can do a word search in any htm file, create a ebook. I don't under-
stand something here.
