They are just single "picture frame" boxes, no runarounds and no clipping paths involved... Just an ordinary square box with a tiny wheel rim inside...
-and I have done this previous years as well - although the picture boxes were even smaller at those editions...

In Quark under the item menu What is the clipping path set to? It should be on Item other wise Quark will make the picture jagged.
