Dear All If im not wrong transfer function has datas regarding the dot gain compensation curves to be applied for imagesetters(if it has a dotgain or loss due to hardware problems).This transfer function carries the DG curve to the imagesetter for it to reduce or increase dotsize to compensate the error.It should be normally done by studying the calibration charts of imagesetters and is to be done by separation people or by designers if they are told about the required DG curve.
