I am running both Reader and Acrobat Pro (6) on my Win XP machine without difficulty. Perhaps if you are replacing your hard drive, you should simply install the full Acrobat application (and upgrade to v 6), and be done with it. There is no hardcopy manual. You can print out topics from Acrobat help. I have Acrobat Reader and the Acrobat commercial package (whatever you call it now) which allows me to create PDFs from PS. If this is the cause of my grief, what is the workaround? I am just replacing my failing HDD and this would be the perfect chance to get it right. And, while I have you on the line, where can I get a hard-copy manual for Acrobat 5 (Windows version)? Mine came only with the CD so I have no instructions and have never been able to use it yet.
