Yes Yes Yes... I've been complaining about this to Canon/Ikon for over a year (or when every Acrobat 6 came out)
 
I don't know if it is Acrobat's problem or something with Netscan Gear, (were using V1.5 of NSG) but I tend to think it is in the Canon end.  I can scan to Acrobat 6 from our CLC1100 via Fiery Scan but not the b/w boxes.
 
Our problem is we where up to Acrobat 5, and you can't keep both v5 and v6 on the same workstation (pc that is, they don't play nice together) so we need to keep Acrobat 5 on a separate workstation for scanning large documents. . But, for single pagers, we just scan to Photoshop. 
 
Complain to your Canon people. Enough complaints they might just do something. (or not)
