Print the documents as an image may work but it takes 20-30 minutes to get a document out of the printer instead or 1-2 minutes.(this is using a sample document that manifests the problem) I agree with you that it's HPs problem. But getting HP to do something about is about as easy as getting Adobe to so something. It may happen one day, but in the meantime we are stuck. So, you are running acrobat 6 and you can change to postscript level 1? Is that in your printer's properties? The 5000 doesn't seem to have that option. In acrobat 4 & 5 you could change it in the Postscript Options in the print dialog. In 6 the option got buried in Advanced: Postscript Options, and only level 2 & 3 are supported. My PostScript printer driver (from HP) will allow me to print at level 1, 2 or 3. You could print the docs as an image, which bypasses the PS. But have you checked with HP for a solution. This sounds like their problem, and not Acrobat's.
