If the document was merged from multiple PDF files with Acrobat 4.X this
'Unable to extract the embedded font XXX' problem is quite often seen,
though the merged document actually might behave/print as expected on some
systems/platforms after all.

This problem is not isolated to Helvetica, however.

Under certain conditions Acrobat 4 generally allowed merge of documents that
in fact couldn't be merged because of clashing font names for subsetted
fonts, and Acrobat 4.0 didn't always handle that situation as it should.

With Acrobat 5 the risk of getting such bogus documents were considerably
reduced, since error handling in most cases effectively prevented users from
merging such documents at all.

With Acrobat 6 this risk has been even further reduced, perhaps eliminated.
At least, I haven't seen it with documents created with Acrobat 6 yet :-)
