No graphics.  But I will attempt the process you described on the tables that are in the doc.

Do you have an image (picture) of some sort in the problem file? If so, remove the image and then make the PDF file by printing to the Acrobat Distiller printer. It might be a PDFMaker thing, or a driver problem. In rare cases, the PS driver can get the length of the image data wrong causing some extra binary "garbage" at the end. The PS interpreter will then throw an undefined error.
