That, however, is the wrong way to do this! You should be exposing your plugin via standard platform IAC methods (COM, in the case of Windows) and then communicating with that method. MenuItemExecute() is unreliable...

Since you want an AVDoc anyway, why don't you just open one directly instead of doing PDDoc->AVDoc?!?
