Thanks Leonard..
As far as legal issues are concerned..there is not any problem..
now let me explain a little of what im doing..
i read one byte after the stream keyword (the carriage return) and
then read the "length" (read from the stream dictionary) bytes in a
buffer and pass this buffer to the decoding function provided by the
library.
now the problem is that buffer is not decoded and i get the error "bad
compressed format.."
i have done similar in case of flate also and the buffer gets decoded
appropriately..
thanks in advance, atul

OK.
now the problem is..I am not able to decode the lzw buffer in pdf..
First the legal issues:
Are you located in the United States or elsewhere? If you are
your area or have you acquired a license?
and what your code does, it is quite difficult/impossible to help.
Now the technical:
Without knowing EXACTLY what these "3rd party libraries" are doing
Make sure you are reading the correct info from teh PDF and placing it
back as well - no headers, watch the space around stream/endstream,
etc.
