Thanks Aandi.. that was one mistake i was making.. but i am still not able to decode the lzw.. i still need to ripp off 1 byte to make the lzw decode work.. any more clues..?
and the other issue remains as it is..
the flate decode data after rencoding doesn't match the original pdf
encoded buffer and hence not readable by xpdf..

That would certainly be wrong. If there is a carriage return
there must be a line feed following. Read the rules for
white space after the word "stream" extremely carefully, because
otherwise white space can be interpreted as binary data, or
vice versa.
