My application writes over existing page content.
As in adds new content to the beginning or end, or as in actually modified the existing content?
I want to be able to say something like
q <reset CTM> <do some drawing> Q

Not really. What you need to do is wrap all the other operations inside of q/Q before your code gets executed, so then you'll be back at the default.
