The best way to ensure that a field never gets the focus is to set it read
only.  Users won't be able to interact with it at all, but your scripts can
still affect it.

There is no "loose the focus" command that I'm aware of either, but there is
a "set the focus" command.  Each field has a "setFocus()" member function.
