There are no limitations on what mixture of fonts can
be used in the same document.

Nothing specific, but probably not needed either. PDF files
have each character at a specific position, with the position
decided in advance. This means there is no need for
language-specific features for flow and justification.

It is possible for a font to have a negative advance. That
is, after showing a character, the position for the next
character may be before the current one.  Not too clear how
this works with variable width fonts.  But this is not
necessary, just a convenience.
