Hi,

I own a Minolta XD-7 & a Pentax P30. A good samiritan
now a good friend) offered me free a Minolta mount with an external step of dia
42mm(pitch of 0.75mm). I got an adapter manufactured to suit the the external threaded
step and provided a mating thread for my Pentax P30 on the other side of the
adapter(thickness around 10mm). This enables me to mate Minolta (when reversed) with
Pentax lens. Back to face & face to face also for the two lenses.

With the mfd. adapter fitted on to camera lenses, the focusing range falls down
dramatically to within 1 inch!
If I use only a reversing ring the range is around 3 inches (a distance where I get a
clear & sharp picture).

I have got a few questions to ask.

     1. What will be magnification achieved in points?
     2. What are the merits of using a contraption
like this in the respective fittings?
     3. How to calculate the aperture & shutter readings?
     4. Without a Tripod,will a faster film reduce shake?

Thanks in advance
