For me it depends on a few things.
Weight of the camera: I don't care to lug around a camera of 30+ ounces. If
I'm going to do that anyway, I figure I might as well get a bigger negative.
All-important viewfinder: The relative size and absolute coverage of the
viewfinder is an exceedingly important part of camera design. The
manufacturers get away with murder here because such a great percentage of
their customers don't have sufficient experience with enough cameras to know
what's possible. The viewfinder is among the worst features of many, many
cameras. A really good viewfinder is worth a lot. If the MZ-S has a 96%
finder or better, I'm interested; 93% or worse, I'm not. Maybe .75 to 1.0
magnification I'd consider, lower I wouldn't. Viewfinder screen "snap" is
less important in an AF camera but would still factor into my decision.
Diopter correction, which the MZ-S has, is a definite plus.
For me, now, it looks promising, and I'll certainly be following its
introduction with more than passing interest.
